Since his early twenties, Gareth has worked in several recording studios,
learning his trade as a sound engineer and music producer.
He has been professionally using audio software as a compositional and
performance tool for several years, developing his knowledge, discovering
new approaches and techniques and furthering his understanding of audio
software and how it can be used in a musically creative way.
He started producing hard techno and hardcore and worked with New York
techno legend Lenny Dee then progressed to writing techno, minimal and
house music.
After producing and engineering tracks for a variety of different DJ’s and
artists, Gareth went on to help set up the minimal techno record label, "Edit
Select" with fellow Glasgow DJ/producer Anthony Scott, a.k.a Percy X (Soma,
Limbo). Gareth wrote and co-produced the Asperity E.P. which was the first
release for the label and was supported by Richie Hawtin, Ricardo Villalobos,
Luciano, Derrick May, Joey Beltram, James Ruskin and many more.
In early 2008, Gareth set up his own techno/house label called Bulletdodge
Records, which has seen releases from Loweck, Gene Hunt, Electro Voodoo
and Spectre and has been supported by Laurent Garnier, Ben Sims and Deep
Dish.
His career escalated further in summer 2008 when his piano based “Left
Behind” track was featured on the July 2008 I-DJ front cover CD.
To date he has had releases on Audio Culture Recordings, Parallel 125, Naked
Lunch, Aleph Recordings, Dioxide Records plus many more and been
supported by the likes of Judge Jules, Anderson Noise and Martin Landsky.
Gareth continues to grow as a producer and live artist, developing his own
style of deep, dark, melodic house and techno.

The NEW release from Gareth Whitehead, this time he brings the Struggle for
Realization E.P.
It's an exciting melodic minimal track sure to be a massive floor-filler for the
start of the year. It delivers a quirky bass line with all the minimal bleeps in all
the right places.
The second track on the E.P. is an excellent remix from Columbia’s very own
Alex Young. His rhythmic bass line and percussion give it a really nice groove
that will also result in the masses storming the dancefloor.
